This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: spring, 2nd rotation: fall, 3rd rotation: summer).
The Materials and Planning Co-Op will be responsible for:
* Support and lead projects to improve quality of processes supporting use of Paint Shop materials.
* Determine root cause of defects related to process materials within Paint Shop.
* Paint shop consumes the largest amount of natural resources across the plant; it is crucial to constantly be working on ways to reduce energy consumption and water usage for sustainable production of BMW X-Vehicles.
The Intern should expect to contribute and improve the following:
* Maintain quality of all materials in paint shop
* Validate and integrate new materials
* Reduce energy consumption
* Manage paint suppliers and escalation topics
* Various production-critical tasks
* Launching BMW Individual Colors and Matte Colors
* Trialing new materials (PVC, wax, clearcoat, etc.)
* Energy reduction projects
Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
