Job Description
Job Purpose

Materials scheduler is responsible for the analysis, and execution of all production orders for the assembly of products using sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners and automated machinery to mass-produce components into a completed drive train for the automotive industry by performing the following duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and analyze inventory discrepancies
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Monitor supplier related on-time shipping data as well as updating supplier performance reports
  • Coordinate/assist with new product launch meetings
  • Ownership of customer pipeline, Interact with suppliers for scheduling
  • Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality;
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor or quality engineer immediately.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly
  • Schedule production for assembly lines including incoming and outgoing parts
  • Scheduling of components for assembly - expedite as needed, track weekend shipments
  • Maintain all necessary records in the materials department
  • Maintain open sales orders
  • Monitor supplier related on-time shipping data
  • Control inventory dollars, control shim inventory, Cost savings on freight
  • Work with production on material flow - part presentation to the line
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and maintain audit records
  • Solid interaction with the shipping department
  • Prepare load sheets
  • Rating disputes
  • Updates packaging per customer specifications

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be able to work with very limited supervision, excellent planning and organizational skills, with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must possess ability to work flexible hours including overtime
  • Prefer a working knowledge of assembly lines and processes
  • Must be willing to accept work related calls after hours
  • Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; stoop, kneel, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, grasp, and pinch on a continual basis.
  • No heavy lifting is expected but may be involved with cycle counting process; the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-50 pounds.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. An employee in Corrective Action or an employee who enters Corrective Action during the application process will be disqualified from the application process.
