The Project Manager works with key leaders across all integrated Global businesses to provide Project Management services to manufacturing and all functional business areas as listed in the following:

  • Integrated business manufacturing
  • Operational Excellence (OPEX) (SPS - Sonoco Performance System) Commercial Excellence
  • Supply Management
  • IT
  • Global Business Services (GBS) - Includes Finance, Accounting, HR, Supply Management, IT, etc.

The Project Manager will be mostly engaged in mid to high level projects that require a high level of skill to navigate complex project scopes that involve one or more integrated businesses. The project manager will also work towards achieving the EPMO key goals and objectives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide Project Management services to all areas of manufacturing as support is requested from the integrated businesses.
  • Work with GBS leadership team to provide project management and process support to the transformation and day-to-day activities of GBS
  • Utilizes the SPS Project Management methodology to prepare project documentation which includes but is not limited to; Project Charter, WBS (work breakdown structures), resources, schedules, cost estimates, risk management, and P-SOW's for potential and existing projects
  • Supports and coordinates all aspects of projects to ensure that workstreams and implementation plans are done safely, on-time and within budge
  • Identifies project needs and success criteria and raises concerns around project slippage, risks, and any resource issues needed for overall success
  • Provides necessary documentation for all projects
  • Leads troubleshooting exercises for any work breakdowns and process issues - identifies improvements needed and adds objectives to projects to remediate issues
  • Provides ideas and recommendations for ways to improve process, collaboration, automation and overall improvements
  • Provides expertise in leading a team through project development - from idea to implementation.
  • Utilizes methods for tracking overall project progress including but not limited to; individual workstream progress, overall progress, and all associated KPIs and related budgets
  • Communicates project progress to all stakeholders as defined by the project team
  • Support the Change Management process for all projects.

  • Process engineering and process improvement experience a plus
  • Builds relationships and collaborates among global and diverse teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Project management skills (PMI)
  • Builds and leads effective cross-functional project teams
  • Able to select the most effective PM tools to utilize in each individual project
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in Change Management a plus
  • Technical skills; awareness of technology for process improvement
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and diverse teams
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent Project Management studies/degree
  • PMP Certification
  • 5-10 years of experience in project and process-related roles
  • Must have experience in a highly complex, multinational organization
  • Must have experience in manufacturing; experience working in Sonoco plant environment is an asset

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $74,250.00 to $89,100.00
