Adhesives Specialist:

  • Steers technical and specialized guidance for the Plant on adhesive materials and quality topics through testing and measurement activities to ensure supplied parts and materials meet established specifications.
  • Steers technical or specialized guidance to internal and external customers for adhesives.
  • Confirms sealer and adhesive tests in the Body, Paint and Assembly Shops.
  • Coordinates service part sealer and adhesive testing.
  • Steers root cause analysis of sealer evaluation for QZ (quality) audited vehicles.
  • Collaborates with cross-technology teams in problem solving of adhesives issues.
  • Provides specialized guidance for audits and development of suppliers.
  • Performs the Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) for materials.
  • Provides technical direction in support of material performance improvement of adhesives.
  • Guides adhesive and sealer destruct evaluations as the subject matter expert.
  • Collaborates with process partners on Plant-wide processes through PMP (Problem-Management Process), 8D, and (Cross-System Teams).
  • Supports line trials for all adhesives with data collection, analysis and provides back-up support for routine lab analysis.
  • Initiates actions where needed for supplier performance improvement.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional related industrial experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience performing problem solving activities with cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years of auditing experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading projects or special team assignments with steering responsibility.
  • Lead Auditor Training
  • 5+ years of MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access).
  • 3+ years of knowledge of adhesive materials.
  • 3+ years of detailed and high-level knowledge of chemistry and performance of adhesives.
  • 3+ years of knowledge of sealers and adhesives testing.
  • 3+ years of ability to develop processes and lead teams from internal and external organizations as associated with established targets.
  • 3+ years of documentation skills (written and verbal) for report writing and development & delivery of presentations.
  • German language skills (preferred).
