AMSC- Mechanical Technician
Description/Job Summary


Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical equipment

Lubrication and preventative maintenance (PM) of mechanical equipment

Assists Electronic technician in electrical and elctronic duties

Able to perform welding, machining, and millwright duties

Identify parts and assist tool room in the requisition and inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment

Design, assembles, and installs new mechanical equipment and maintains Maintenance Management System; able to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings

Maintain all equipment in good running order

Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards

Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment

Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist no production line when needed

Maintains professional certificatinos and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date

Operates all maintenance equipment safely

Required Skills
Strong background in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Basic computer knowledge
Electrical background a plus (but not required)
Ability to read blueprints and mechancial drawings (preferred)

Preferred Skills


Must have good communication skills

Must be able to multi-task

Must be able and willing to work overtime on an as needed basis. Must be willing to be on-call and work some nights and weekends that are required

Electrical background is a plus, but not required

The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus

Required Experience
Five years as journeyman millwright with experience operating lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment
Required Education
High School Diploma or GED
Required Qualifications

Five (5) years as a journeyman level millwright and additional skills to operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment

Have a strong background in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as machining experience is required

Basic computer knowledge

Safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes is required on some or all jobs
