Job Summary

The Performance Improvement Advisor I facilitates clinical, quality, operational, and process improvement initiatives throughout the organization and across the different service lines and care venues (acute, post-acute, ambulatory) utilizing improvement tools and methodologies to improve overall outcomes. The role supports projects through the complete project cycle; manages the design, development, delivery and evaluation of clinical-based improvement work; and provides continuous process improvement coaching, facilitation, education and functions as a champion for Prisma Health's Performance Excellence and Continuous Improvement program. The Performance Improvement Advisor I will facilitate the use of data to identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes, prevent events with the potential to negatively impact patient care, promote a culture of patient safety and improve hospital processes.

The successful incumbent will have leadership, project management, communication, and collaborative skills; in addition to some experience with team facilitation, continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, etc., change management, and data analytics to advance the system's cultural transformation at all levels of the workforce.

Accountabilities

  • Provides support and facilitates improvement projects through the complete project cycle and includes the collection and analysis of data, application of consistent standards, best practices and improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, etc.) to improve outcomes to ensure safe, effective, efficient, patient centered care.\u00A0 Works collaboratively with assigned teams to improve quality outcomes, improve patient safety, improve satisfaction, and/or decrease cost, through reduction of needless variability, waste, and errors, involving all appropriate personnel, including team members, team leader, team champion, and staff involved in testing and diffusing change. 45%
  • Collects and utilizes data to identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes, prevent events with the potential to negatively impact patient care, and promote a culture of patient safety and improve hospital processes. 20%
  • Assists with training in the realm of performance improvement, to develop and enhance Prisma Health staff knowledge, skills, & abilities.\u00A020%
  • Provides continuous process improvement and daily management system coaching, facilitation, education and improvement activity and functions as a champion for Prisma Health's Performance Excellence Methodology. 10%
  • Facilitates simple root cause analysis events.\u00A05%

Minimum Education

\u200BBachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Human Factors

Minimum Experience

1 year

Required Certifications

Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) preferred

Certified Professional Healthcare Quality, preferred
