Job Description
Advanced Technology International (ATI) builds and manages collaborations that conduct research and development of new technologies to solve our nation's most pressing challenges. TechConnect is a division of ATI with 25+ years of experience connecting emerging technologies with partnership opportunities. We employ a broad scope of tools to deliver top technologies, including matchmaking conferences and technology scouting programs.

Position Description
The Project and Outreach Manger will support TechConnect's technology events and matchmaking programs through tasks such as; relationship building with industry, government and academic partners, speaker recruitment and engagement, conference panel, pitch and other event planning and support, communications and tracking for relationship or speaker capture plans, and general logistics and administrative support for TechConnect leadership. This position will (in part) have an immediate focus on events and engagement with city leadership (Smart Cities) from across the nation and worldwide, and long term focus will include events and engagement with government and military leadership (Defense TechConnect and TechConnect World).

Applicant Summary:

  • Outreach and communications experience with technology, industry, military, government and/or academic communities a plus
  • Experience with tech scouting, matchmaking, tech-pitch or other events a plus
  • This position is FULLY remote.

Essential Functions

Coordinate with industry, government, project-partners, sales-team and other stakeholders to ensure project or event flow smoothly and meet organizational goals and expectations.

Primary point of contact for city, industry, startup, university and government event speakers, participants, and other external clients; and is responsible for answering and resolving issues that arise over the course of the event or project life cycle.

Provide updates and guidance throughout the planning process to internal management and external stakeholders.

Update Program and Project Databases to capture accurate participation records for future planning and lessons learned.

Assemble, edit and proofread program or report documents and materials

Perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to speaker/panel moderation, bulk email merges, phone calls, preparing correspondence, and email follow-ups to program and project-related participants and stakeholders.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, business, communications, engineering/science or related fields preferred +5 years related experience
  • Strong written and verbal skills required
  • Strong public speaking or meeting/workshop coordination a plus
  • Must have experience in project or program planning and a track record for positive experiences for successful execution
  • Experience working with conferences/events a plus
  • Must be a self-starter who requires little to no supervision to meet goals and can work remotely while maintaining productivity
  • Intermediate computer and software skills (MS Office Suite, Google/shared platforms) required. Project management or scheduling software a plus.
  • Ability to travel to conferences and meetings required. Weekend travel is very infrequent, however, it may be needed to support the client's needs for an early Monday or late Friday event

Work Environment

This is a FULLY remote position with up to 5% travel annually.
