Georgia-Pacific's Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Alcolu, South Carolina has an incredible opportunity for a Mobile Equipment Mechanic. This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

In this role as a Mobile Equipment Mechanic individuals will work a DAY SHIFT schedule with necessary overtime as needed.

Georgia-Pacific Clarendon OSB is one of the newest facilities using some of the most advanced technology to create the specialty brand of Blue Ribbon OSB. This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications. What You Will Do

  • Conducting periodic maintenance on all rolling stock in accordance with the scheduled maintenance requirements
  • Record keeping of work performed through use of the work order system and other logbooks as needed
  • Coordinating procurement of parts to conduct repairs
  • Assisting in maintaining proper inventory of stocked parts
  • Performing needed engine, transmission, and hydraulic system repairs on front end loaders, forklifts, manlifts, skid steers, extended boom lifts, cranes and other small engine equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years' or more experience in general maintenance of mobile equipment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Five (+) years' experience in maintenance of large mobile equipment; to include front end loaders, manlifts, skid steers, extended boom lifts, forklifts, cranes and small engines
  • Minimum of one year experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel, gasoline, and propane engines, including fuel injection systems, turbos, etc.
  • Minimum of one year experience troubleshooting and repairing transmissions and drive trains
  • Minimum of one year experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems
  • Minimum of one year experience performing basic diagnostics and repairs to electrical systems
  • Minimum of one year experience performing minor welding repairs
