What You'll Do

The Software and Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing new systems, supporting existing designs, supporting operations, and working across all business functions to define and deliver innovative refrigeration systems. Experience with a proven track record in control/power electronics, mechatronics, and thermal technologies will be essential to facilitate a first-to-market approach to develop and launch innovative products to be utilized in healthcare, university, pharmaceutical, biotech, government, and industrial facilities. The Software and Controls Engineer will work with Leadership, Sales, and Product Management to establish a solid engineering function capable of rapid product development and innovation to realize best-in-class products and speed to market.

• Responsible for updating existing designs and developing new systems based on identified market needs
• Analyze and optimize UI and controls application code for quality, efficiency, and performance
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Responsible for custom software development, software sustainment, and controller programming systems engineering associated with controlling and monitoring refrigeration performance.
• Work cross-functionally to identify and integrate new technologies.
• Support the full product lifecycle through the product development and commercialization process including testing, documentation, and manufacturing.
• Utilize version control to track code changes and maintain project history.
• Create project documentation including software, controller parameters, schematics, drawings, bill of materials, manuals, test specifications, change notices, etc.
• Plan and prioritize project activities to ensure progress and accountability.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year of experience preferred but a new graduate with the right qualifications will be considered.
• Must be proficient in MS Office
• Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across software and electronics.
• Must have experience in Java using Android SDK
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and utilize tools in a shop or lab environment.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate rapidly and effectively within the organization and to represent the company professionally.
• Must be willing and able to independently pursue assignments with maximum problem-solving resolve and minimal supervision but must also readily ask for direction and help when needed.
• Must have the ability to shift priorities as needed and work in a fast-paced environment.

What We Value

• Full Android application and UI development highly desirable
• Modbus communication protocol experience a plus
• C++ desired other high-level language experience highly desirable
• Experience with wireless protocols: Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, etc., touchscreen displays, single board computers, software automation, loading and updates a plus.
