Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated inspectors to conduct and document inspections of highway and bridge projects throughout South Carolina.
Responsibilities include leading data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Successful candidates will have the following:
- At least four applicable certifications
AND one of the following:
- A bachelor's degree in construction management or related field plus at least four years of relevant experience
- An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least six years of relevant experience
- No degree plus at least eight years of relevant experience
Ideal candidates will have experience with any/all of the following:
- Lead and mentor inspector performing highway materials sampling/testing or preforming highway bridge inspections
- Possess all SCDOT certifications including foundations
- Oversight of interpretation of plans, drawings and specifications as relates to construction field tasks
- Experience with AASHTOWare or other construction software
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
