Job Description

Position Summary

Applies concepts from safety and environmental engineering/management coursework to safety and environmental assignments that provide background and experience to accept additional responsibilities in their area of specialty later when the degree is completed. Candidates will gain experience with and knowledge of Parker EHS programs sufficient to perform future responsibilities with general direction.

This is an internship opportunity for Summer 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Foster near-miss safety culture by providing proper feedback to team members.
  • Expand safety audit program to ensure safe use of equipment.
  • Conduct EHS audits.
  • Expand waste management program. Organize shipping and record keeping of waste disposal.
  • Facilitate Safety High Performance Team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Chemistry, Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering. Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of environments and assignments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
