Associate Manufacturing Engineer

Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Provide daily assistance and support to assembly processes
  2. Assist in analyzing product designs for the best fit method of manufacturing
  3. Specify tools, equipment and process to produce a part and assemble an engine
  4. Document and evaluate process while identifying improvements
  5. Assist in developing statistically based manufacturing control strategies
  6. Prepares requests for quotes & conducts line-ups with prospective suppliers
  7. Solve problems related to assembly process, tooling and equipment
  8. Provides technical support to maintenance operations, manufacturing, and other functional groups on request.
  9. Performs special projects as may be required.
  10. Submits progress reports that detail project progress in terms of time schedule and budget performance.
  11. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  12. Perform special projects as required

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Required:
  1. Bachelors Degree in engineering or engineering technology, or 4 years of engineering experience in design, assembly or manufacture of internal combustion engines.
  2. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and terminology
  3. Good level of analytical ability where problems are complex and unusual
  4. Good knowledge of geometric tolerancing and related gauges
  5. Good ability to interpret prints and drawings
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  8. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
  9. Proficient with CAD and modeling software
Preferred:
  1. German language skills

This position has a compressed work schedule (Monday through Thursday).

While performing tasks for this position, the employee is regularly requested to perform work on a computer inside and occasionally outside of the work environment. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to work in environmental conditions where there are fumes and dust. Finally, the employee will be frequently requested to perform tasks in environmental conditions where there are unpleasant odors and gases. Please note, the conditions can be hazardous.


While performing physical demands of the position, occasionally the employee will be occasionally requested to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and squat. Also, the employee will be regularly requested to sit within a particular work environment. Next, the employee will frequently be requested to walk inside and outside the work environment. Finally, an employee will be regularly requested to grasp and manipulate items in a maneuverable manner to perform daily tasks.
