As one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., and with growth around the world, we are seeking candidates for the role of Engineer in Training to work on Water Resources related projects with our Water Delivery team in Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, or Agricultural Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
  • An Engineer-In-Training certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication. Responsible for writing and creating technical project reports
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
  • Knowledge of water-related field equipment and standard operating procedures.
  • Duties include field work and office work, frequent local travel
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment
  • Assists with the preparation of documentation including water quality reports, maps, data analysis, spreadsheets, and supporting documents.

The Water Resource Engineer-In-Training Candidate must be able to perform complex and/or unique engineering functions, advanced field data collection, and troubleshooting for a variety of water resource related projects. These types of projects include, but are not limited to field data collection, regulatory compliance, assisting with developing design specifications, troubleshooting low-voltage systems, calibrating multi-parameter sondes, conducting plan reviews, report writing, and more. This candidate will be in the field 51% - 60% of the time and has the opportunity to work with staff in various Woolpert offices.

Qualifications

Additional Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be highly motivated, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and excel in a multidiscipline project team environment.
  • Candidate must have excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Candidate must be able to respond effectively to inquiries from clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of ESRI software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
  • Stormwater plan review experience is preferred
  • Candidate must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record, as required by our insurance company, must be able to travel overnight and/or out of town, and be able to work overtime as required.
