A post-doctoral fellow position is available in a highly collaborative research group that focuses on molecular mechanisms of axon growth in the peripheral and central nervous systems.The Twiss lab is interested inthe biology of the axon that underlies neuronal growth, function, and regeneration, particularly on how axonal mRNA transport, translation and stability contribute to axon growth and the signaling mechanisms underliethese (Nat Commun22, 3358; Molec Cell Proteomics17, 2091; JCell Sci134, jcs251967; J Cell Biol218, 1871; Curr Biol30, 4882; Commun Biol 5, 672; Nucl Acids Res 50, 5772).Experiments will use a combination of in vitro and in vivo approaches with cellular, molecular and biochemical methods, largely focusing on RNA/protein interactions that modulate axon growth. A PhD or equivalent in Cell Biology, Neurobiology, Biology or closely related field is required.Experience in neurobiology or RNA biology is preferred, particularly previous work using a combination of primary cultures and in vivo models.
