Why This Job

This is a leadership position within our Strategy team, reporting to the Director, Strategy. The Strategy team is responsible for defining and envisioning the future of CMC and developing a strategy for successful growth. In this highly visible role, the Manager will own the end-to-end work process to structure complex problems, develop hypotheses, conduct analyses, and drive actionable recommendations through a data driven process.

What You'll Do
  • Lead quantitative analyses and modeling to evaluate growth opportunities - modeling will include business cases, acquisitions, partnerships, and investments
  • Identify potential acquisition targets, JV, and investment opportunities to accelerate CMC's strategic objectives
  • Conduct comprehensive competitive analyses to influence decision-making, including competitor landscape, capabilities analysis, and customer overlap
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and future trends to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for differentiation or competitive advantage
  • Partner with business to drive strategic objectives
  • Act as an agent of change to prepare and influence people within the organization to act with urgency
  • Communicate key project insights and recommendations to Company leaders and senior corporate executives by creating written narratives and delivering presentations
  • Build strong connections with industry players, emerging innovators, and Company leaders to be at the forefront of new developments
  • Contribute to improving the Strategy team by enhancing existing processes and developing junior team members
What You'll Need
  • 3-5 years of full-time work experience in investment banking, corporate development, or strategy consulting
  • Strong problem-solving skills, structure ambiguous problems, bring logic to drive key analyses, and synthesize analyses to actionable insights
  • High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including strong Excel modeling skills and experience with the application of formulas
  • Ability to influence, motivate and direct large, cross-functional teams that do not report directly in to this position
  • Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in slides
  • Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects and manage expectations of stakeholders
  • Intellectually curious, results focused, and exhibits the highest standards of integrity
  • Collaborative, flexible, team-oriented working style
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
