Summary Responsible for administering contracts to ensure that contractual obligations are met and compliance is maintained with mandatory governmental regulations, applicable laws and corporate policies and procedures. Serves as the liaison between the company and the customer contracting officers on all contractual matters in order to maintain consistency in communications, documentation, and minimizing cost risk due to misunderstanding and/or non-compliance. Logistics:

This is a full-time position (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm working on-site at 2401 Faraway Dr. Columbia, SC.

What You'll Do:

  • Works as primary point of contact for contractual matters related to assigned contracts and subcontracts. Manages contract activities to ensure that assigned contracts with the US government and other customers are in compliance with all federal, state and commercial regulations. Responsible for ensuring clear communications with customers as well as internal staff and management to ensure understanding of customer expectations and contract requirements.
  • Reviews contractual documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions including applicable federal regulations and business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance. Leads the maintenance of contract files using sophisticated contracts management software to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Drafts, reviews, coordinates and requests approval of legal documents to include contracts, contract modification, subcontracts and related modifications, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements and other legal documents. Coordinates with legal department as well as areas of company management as necessary to ensure documents meet management standards and expectations. Leads the coordination and preparation of legal documents such as Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA's) and Teaming Agreements (TA's) with operations, business development and legal personnel.
  • Monitors contract requirements to ensure quality and timely delivery of reports and information. Performs contract reporting for both internal management as well as external customer requirements. Reviews and approves monthly invoices for each contract.
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of business proposals to customers for growth of current contracts or award of new business. Works as primary point of contact within the Contracts team for the development of contract pricing and proposals. Proactively participates in internal proposal processes while coordinating with other proposal staff.
  • Works closely with internal pricing specialists to review related cost inputs, assumptions and final pricing recommendations. Participates in the various RFS gateway reviews and provides contracts approval upon successful completion of each review.
  • Works as the primary contracts negotiator for simpler contracts documents. Provides assistance in more complex contracts and subcontracts negotiations.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other job related field OR four years job related work experience.

Required Work Experience:

  • Five years contracts/subcontracts, purchasing or other job related field.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels, and to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to all levels throughout the organization and externally.
  • Strong decision-making, presentation, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical or critical thinking and problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
  • Ability to make sound decision.

  • Ability to draft simple to moderate routine contractual instruments.
  • Ability to identify required improvement to established policies.
  • Use of independent judgement and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.
  • Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
  • Emerging ability to excel in upper level management environment.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS,) and/or Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA).

Required Software and Other Tools:

  • Microsoft Office.

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • NCMA certification as a Certified Federal / Commercial Contracts Manager.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Some travel between office buildings.
