Job Summary

Performs CT Scanning as directed by the ordering Physician or the Radiologist is responsible for reading the exam. Communicates with all Physicians and Other Work-Related Personnel Appropriately. Works to Coordinate all CT Services in order to improve patient continuum of care including Communicating with Radiology and Reading Radiologist.

This position is bonus eligible, follow this for details.

Accountabilities

CLINICAL:

1)\u00A0 Identifies patients and procedures.\u00A0Fill out CT Questionnaire and Female Questionnaire on all patients between the ages of 11-50 yrs. old.

2)\u00A0 Positions patients accurately for all CT procedures.\u00A0 Patients are transferred and positioned correctly for anatomy to be demonstrated for best visibility.\u00A0

3) Know scanning protocols in depth. Must be able to perform procedures correctly using protocol book for reference. Studies must be done in a timely manner

4)\u00A0 Obtains appropriate supplies and prepares room for patient. Keeps room cleaned and stocked at all times.\u00A0 Adequate supplies and linens must always be available. Tables and trays must be cleaned after each patient.

5)\u00A0 Use proper technique when injection IV contrast. Ensure IV is working and checked first with an injection of saline. Choose correct method of injection (hand or injector)\u00A0\u00A0

6) Perform Daily QC tasks each morning.

7) Responds to Codes and other Emergency situations appropriately.\u00A0 60%

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

1) Explains CT Procedure to patient and/or family member.\u00A0 Obtains completed questionnaire and proper history and clinical from patient, floor or physician's office.\u00A0 Responsible for Practicing Appropriate Radiation Protection on all Patients

2) Informs patients and families of all delays.

3) Trains co-workers and students.

4) Assist other technologists when not busy in\u00A0assigned CT room.\u00A0 \u00A020%

ADMINISTRATIVE:

1) Acquires requisition and checks for appropriate clinical.

2) Charges procedure, supplies and surgical codes when exam is completed.\u00A0

3) Operates the PAC\u2019s system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive.

4) Reports equipment problems to supervisor, in-charge tech and documents confirmation numbers.

5) Appropriate forms must be completed for all procedures. Fill out contrast sheet on all patients receiving IV and rectal contrast.\u00A0A contrast media form must be filled out on all Medicare/Medicaid patients, CT forms must be filled out on all patients.\u00A0\u00A020%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of accredited radiology program.

  • 1 Year -\u00A0Diagnostic Radiology

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
  • ARRT-RADIOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGIST - ARRT

  • CT Technologist Certified

  • RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD - RQSA
