Job Description

Staffmark has partnered with a leading manufacturer of piping systems in Myrtle Beach, SC and is hiring a Wastewater Operator. Join an outstanding team who will listen to your ideas, value your contributions, and help you reach new heights in your career!

Schedule: 7am - 3pm, Monday to Friday
Pay rate: $25 - 29/hr.

Wastewater Operator essential functions:
  • Be responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Operates to the best possible standards providing uninterrupted operation.
  • Monitors wastewater pretreatment systems, ancillary equipment, and the chemical
  • composition of the influent, effluent, and internal process streams; makes necessary adjustments to ensure operation is within established guidelines.
  • Responds to unscheduled equipment or process failures.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturers.
  • specifications on all systems including belt press, blowers, pumps, valves, and piping.
  • Collects and analyzes raw waste, performs chemical and physical analysis. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the composition of the influent, effluent, and internal process streams. Preforms sampling requirements for storm water.
  • Maintains cleanliness of wastewater plant.
  • Ensures efficient and economical operation of wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Completes maintenance records; maintains operating logbooks and databases as required.
  • Maintains control of plant tools, manuals, repair parts, assemblies, and consumables.
  • Advises the HR Manager of the status of wastewater pretreatment equipment and systems.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, minimum requirement is a physical/chemical wastewater "D" certification. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
