Associate Industrial Engineer - Remanufacturing

Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Analyze machining and assembly remanufacturing processes to design the best method of remanufacturing and overhauling to safely produce a quality product on time.
  2. Collaborate with teams in quality, operations, materials, and product engineering for resolution of issues and root cause analysis
  3. Assist in planning and implementing safety, quality and productivity improvements in the spirit of continuous improvement
  4. Assist in maintenance of labor routings and operator worker allocations
  5. Assist in developing processes using existing SAP and IT software tools for unique customer and workshop requests and needs
  6. Support work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays
  7. Suggest and plan improvements to work center layouts to improve product and process flow
  8. Perform work measurements as needed supporting operations to improve health, safety, and performance of staff
  9. Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
  10. Assist in preparation and presentation of charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization
  11. Assist in evaluating and presenting recommendations to management for manpower, schedules, capacity, performance and other key performance indicators
  12. Support creation of standard work instructions, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications
  13. Observe workers operating equipment to performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices and recommend solutions
  14. Provide assistance with product engineering support to shop floor with design and product related issues
  15. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
  16. Perform special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology or 4 years of industrial engineering experience
  2. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  3. Good knowledge in routing design and related transaction codes within SAP
  4. Good problem-solving skills and analytical ability where problems are very complex
  5. Good knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  6. Good knowledge of Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Toyota Production System (or equivalent) concepts
  7. SAP Experience
  8. Good Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings
  9. Strong oral and written communication skills
  10. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
Preferred:
  1. Practical experience using manufacturing simulation and CAD software

Daily work is performed in an office and general manufacturing work environment. This position has a traditional work schedule during a Monday through Friday work schedule. While performing tasks of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer inside the facility. Next, an employee will be occasionally required to come in contact with wet or humid conditions. Finally, this position occasionally requires the employee to be in contact with hazardous conditions.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, or reach within the facility. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to grasp items to carry that are 10-25 pounds once per day. Finally, the employee is occasionally required to push or pull items that are 10-25 pounds once per day.

Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the employee must have the ability to adjust focus.
