Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Voucher Examiner to support a Federal Government client at our Charleston, South Carolina location. As a member of the team, the successful candidate willprovide Voucher Examination services in support of U.S. Embassies overseas.

Responsibilities

  • Review invoices and statements including verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, and if questionable, resolving with the submitting unit, determining accounts involved, coding transactions, and processing material through data processing for application in the accounting system
  • Analyze and reconcile documentation with operating unit reports including contacting units, researching causes of discrepancies and taking action to ensure that accounts balance
  • Analyze and reconcile financial system reports
  • Provide customer support via e-mail and telephone to U.S. Embassy finance staff
  • Perform examinations for accuracy, adequacy of documentation or citations, compliance with regulations, and justification of vouchers, invoices, claims, and other requests for payment of goods and services provided to or by the Government
  • Perform quality control analyses of all payment documents, ensure timely acceptance and approval of all vouchers, and monitor Prompt Payment requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • At least 6 years of experience in the area of financial processes
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Very good analysis and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using the MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the procedures and regulations required to examine and process invoices, vouchers, and related documents
  • Knowledge of applicable schedules, procurement instructions and procedures, travel regulations, commercial practices, trade customs and terminology, general terms and provisions of standardized forms of Government contracts, foreign currency, weight conversion tables, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with U.S. Embassy overseas (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of Federal accounting/financial management policies, practices, operations, and procedures
  • Formal job-specific training led by the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) or CGFS, such as:
    • E2 Global Travel System
    • Travel Regulations and Preparation
    • Voucher Examination
    • Principals of Appropriations Law

Education

HS/GED; AA/AS or BA/BS desired

Clearance

MRPT; Non US Citizens will need to submit the following documents: (1) United States Social Security Card and a Certified Birth Certificate, (2) Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) - legible, easy to read front and back and (3) Special Immigrant Visa with an 1-551 Stamp.

Salary atMILis determined based on factors such asqualifications,experience, and contractual limitations.For this position, the projected compensation range is $46,210.32 - $53,398.59per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part ofMIL'scomplete compensation package.
