Support the Manager of U.S. Transport Operations at the Columbia site to establish transportation policies and procedures and provide direction to transport and non-transport personnel to effectively execute the functions and activities of the department. Plan, organize and control shipments of radioactive and non-radioactive, nuclear related products to and from various licensed consignees, including customer reactor sites and other Westinghouse locations.

Your day to day:

  • Direct and execute the physical movement of shipments and prepare all legally required documentation
  • Implement transportation plans through analysis of conditions for delivery, regulatory requirements, alternative transportation options, and cost
  • Create, manage and report appropriate metrics for U.S. Transport Operations. Provide periodic reporting of shipments and deliveries, project milestones, and supplier performance
  • Interface with Customers, Suppliers, Trade Compliance, Plant personnel and other individuals, both internal and external, as required
  • Perform duties in compliance with federal, state, local and site-specific regulations and agreements. Support audit preparation and compliance
  • Write and revise procedures to ensure consistency with all safety, regulatory compliance and site work requirements

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree - preferredB.S. Degree in Business, Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent
  • 8-10 years in a regulated, global transportation and logistics function - preferred5+ years of experience shipping / transporting hazardous materials
  • Advanced knowledge of transportation principles and solid understanding of U.S. Import/Export regulations. Strong analytical skills
  • Subject matter expertise in Class 7 - Radioactive Materials Transportation preferred
  • Preferred -CHMP - Certified Hazardous Materials Professional
