POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Project Overview:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) facility at Charleston, SC requires comprehensive base operating support services for the Charleston Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and its ancillary support facilities. This includes providing student support services, with such activities as the operation and cleaning of dormitories, operation of the dining facility, and training support services of various types (such as providing range masters, role players for practical exercises, computer laboratory support, equipment issues, bus transportation, etc.). Facility-based services include activities such as janitorial services, waste removal, facility and grounds maintenance, office equipment, and furniture cleaning and movement.

Position Overview:

The Janitorial Manager will be responsible for overseeing all activities within the janitorial program and demonstrating and implementing safe work practices and procedures. Coordinate and monitor work activities and schedules of team employees.

THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD. ALUTIIQ WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM INCUMBENTS CURRENTLY HOLDING THE SAME POSITION.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Responsible for overseeing all activities within the janitorial program and demonstrating and implementing safe work practices and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor work activities and schedules of team employees.
  • Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Perform quality, service, and safety inspections, and monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, supplies, and equipment.
  • Track equipment and supply inventory.
  • Report employee personnel and customer issues to the manager.
  • Provide corrective action recommendations on areas that need improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records.
  • Oversees inspection of housing units to ensure cleanliness, and ensures that all are properly equipped, operable, and habitable.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on all operations of janitorial and housekeeping.
  • Manage maintenance teams to create a focused approach of zero defects in service quality and safety.
  • Maintain on-the-job safety through proper training techniques of equipment, materials, and chemicals.
  • Maintain complete inventory and purchasing schedule to ensure accounts are completely stocked as specified,
  • Make decisions about subordinate personnel regarding employment, performance ratings, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies/ procedures.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable of all safety, environmental, and energy requirements associated with the work they perform.
  • Personnel shall speak, read, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Shall possess at least 3 years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in the management and supervision of commercial and institutional janitorial services of the approximate size and characteristics of the FLETC Complex.
  • Specific experience in setting up and managing a variety of services including laundry, and housekeeping services is mandatory.
  • Shall have proficiency in oral and written communication in English.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
