Job Summary

Reporting to Materials Management leadership, a Materials Specialist - Periop collaborates with the surrounding perioperative departments as needed to provide surgical staff with supplies, reports, and tracking.

Accountabilities

  • Performs system data entry and follow up required to establish and maintain inventory within the OptiFlex and Lawson programs to include all of its par locations throughout perioperative services. Provide needed reports and/or computerized records.
  • Completes inventory processes, inclusive of, but not limited to stock additions, changes, deletes, receiving, pick confirmation, issue corrections, replenishment verification, and cycle/physical inventory counts. Process product returns, orders, and transfers
  • Performs case pick process, determined by Picklist, to include scheduled and add-on cases in an accurate and timely manner. Assist with the departmental phones to expedite supplies needed to the OR.
  • Prepares, prints, distributes, and ensures retrieval and storage integrity of purchasing and/or inventory control documents.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Education - High School diploma or equivalent

Experience - 2 years of healthcare materials services or OR materials handling

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment
