We offer a hybrid schedule (in-office & remote/work from home) or an onsite schedule and flexible hours. Candidates will need to reside near Charleston, SC to ensure work site flexibility.

**The grade, title and salary for this position will be determined once an assessment is completed on theselected candidate'seducation, experience, and skills
(level assignedwill be as either anAccounting Specialist I or Accounting Specialist II).**

Position Description:

Responsible for processing and maintaining accounts payable, timekeeping, general ledger including reconciliation, project setup and other accounting duties as required.

Essential Functions
  • Process assigned accounts payable
  • Assist with end of month reviews and processes
  • Review of specific transactional edits
  • Process assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals
  • Bid and proposal project setup
  • Assist contracts team to establish specific project lines
  • Reconciles specific account and statement balances on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Manages and validates timesheet information
  • Prepare recurring, non-recurring and reversing general journal entries on a monthly basis

Additional Responsibilities
  • Receipt and distribution of manual and electronic correspondence
  • Records management
  • Special projects and other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelorsdegree in an Accounting related field and twoor more years of directly applicable accounting experience, or an Associatesdegree and four or more years of applicable accounting experience within an electronic accounting environment.
  • Strong computers skills, specifically the Microsoft Office suite; Project accounting, Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.
  • Must possess the integrity to handle confidential information.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Motivated to work independently and on a team to accomplish goals.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy within context of company policy and contractual obligations.
  • Problem resolution.
  • This position will need the ability to access US only data systems - US Citizenship is required. Must be able to possess and maintain a DOD security clearance.
  • This position is subject to a background check that includes a review of criminal records. Work Environment
This position is located in an air-conditioned, environmentally controlled atmosphere. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and the distraction level in the work environment is often heavy.
