Job Summary

Are you the type of person who works well with people of all backgrounds and prioritizes the work to meet customer needs? In this role you will support the day-to-day work of our production team members and collaborate with other areas to continually improve processes and meet customer demand. You will facilitate communication, ensure proper training is in place, and plan and direct the work of team members. We're looking for individuals who communicate well and lead others in with technical expertise.

What You'll Do

1. Exhibit the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors as a first line leader for the team.

2. Model and drive the need for customer-focused team members while moving product to next stage in the value stream or process.

3. Apply lean principles to support the team and complete follow-up items from Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.

4. Collect current and accurate information on the managing for daily improvement (MDI) board to drive action and communicate with team members.

5. Ensure team members have appropriate tools to effectively complete their job tasks.

6. Train team members on safe work practices and enforce safety rules and procedures.

7. Prioritize opportunities for current team member development and facilitate training of new team members. Ensure cross-training is in place for maximum coverage and support of processes.

What We're Looking For

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)/high school equivalency test (HiSET).

- One year related experience.

- Ability to lead others in alignment with the Vermeer characteristics and behaviors.

- Ability to perform problem solving techniques and root cause analysis.

- Demonstrated understanding of performance measurements including, but not limited to, safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory.

- Understanding of lean principles.

- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action for a given situation.

- Understanding of equipment and machinery operation.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
