Natural Recourses Staff Scientist

S&ME is searching for a dynamic and passionate full-time Natural Resources Staff Scientist ready to join our Environmental team in Colombia, SC.


What You Will Do:

As a Natural Resources Staff Scientist, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of environmental projects through a dynamic blend of office-based responsibilities and hands-on field activities. Your contributions will encompass a wide range of natural resources projects, where you will engage in regulatory agency coordination, wetland delineations, protected species surveys, and environmental compliance initiatives.

  • Complete data entry to capture results of field activities.
  • Prepare standard environmental reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with regulatory requirements by attending environmental- or natural resource-related training courses or in-house training.
  • Additional consideration will be given to applicants with GIS experience including providing technical GIS support and production of figures for scientific reports

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, or a related field.
  • Experience or previous studies in environmental compliance (natural resources)
  • Working knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap software
  • Ability to write and converse on technical matters in English without assistance
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. The successful candidate must meet the requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy, and Reference Check Program.
