Responsibilities

Lighthouse Behaviroral Health Hosptial of Conway South Carolina recently is seeking an Activity Therapist.

The Activity Therapist, CTRS or other Creative Arts Therapist (Dance and Movement, Art, Music, etc) is responsible for the provision of Recreational Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge leisure planning. The CTRS utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the client's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional or physical. The CTRS educates the patient in healthy coping skills, and available leisure resources to continue the client in post discharge leisure planning and involvement. The CTRS will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the patient's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional or physical.
  • Educates the patient in healthy coping skills and available leisure resources to continue the patient in post-discharge leisure planning and involvement.
  • Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of therapy treatment, and records results on daily progress notes following all documentation policies.
  • Attends treatment team conferences to exchange information and observations with other members of the team as required, as well as assisting with the completion of the initial treatment plan and progress summary updates.

Qualifications

Activity Therapist, CTRS, Job Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an approved program required.

CTRS Certification by National Certification Board (NCTRC) required or other Creative Arts Therapist (Dance and Movement, Art, Music, etc) with appropriate certification.

Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred.
