Job Description
WCIV is seeking a talented, tech-savvy individual to join our outstanding engineering team! This individual will be responsible for providing computer technical support and engineering services to all employees, maintaining all AVID editing equipment and monitoring all non-linear editing systems. The Multimedia Technician's responsibilities include:
  • All AVID iNews, AVID Unity, AVID Lanshare, Telestream, Clipmail hardware and software are observed and maintained for quality and stability.
  • All software based technologies are observed and maintained for quality and stability.
  • All computer network facilities (uplink, fiber, and WANS) are observed and maintained for quality, stability and reliability.
  • Assist any staff member in correct set up, usage and safe operation of equipment as need arises.
  • Discuss and verify any irregular operation of equipment with all users of said equipment.
  • Assist staff in facilitating computer workflows.
  • Maintain records of all desktop and laptop PC's belonging to WLOS including software or hardware changes.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Order parts and software
  • Interface with factory and field engineers
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Intradepartmental assistance

Other Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent experience in IT, electronics, or computer-related field
  • CompTIA A+/N+/Security+ and/or SBE certifications preferred
  • Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload
  • A great team-oriented attitude and dedication to QUALITY
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft, MAC, and Linux operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with AVID-related software and hardware a plus
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with on-call duty, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift computers and equipment generally less than 50 pounds
