OVERVIEW:

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina - Parris Island

Job Type: Regular / Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Saturday determined by Project needs.

Performance Evaluated by: Project Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: **RC will gladly provide reasonable accommodation in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden.

Assist the Project Manager during the preconstruction phase by:

o Assist with the preparation of quantity take-off and estimate during the bid phase.

o Completely understanding contract documents.

o Continually monitoring all aspects relating to schedule and cost carefully considering fiscal risk.

o Communicating with the Superintendent and QC manager when needed to ensure that they have all the proper project documentation (job cost reports, subcontracts, drawings, RFI's, submittals, etc....)

o Recognizing and effectively dealing with unexpected challenges.

o Assisting with the timely professional execution of all project documentation.

o As necessary on behalf of the project manager effectively communicate with the Owner, Architect, and/or Contracting Agency to ensure there are no surprises.

o Processing and transmitting project documents to subcontractors, owners, architects, and/or contracting agencies.

o Back-up for recording minutes of all formal preconstruction meetings including design reviews and scheduling meetings when the Project Administrator is unable to attend.

o Communication with subcontractors to ensure timely submission of submittals.

Assist the Project Manager during the construction phase by:

o Always be alert to safety issues.

o Recording minutes of all project coordination meetings and forwarding them to the project manager for approval and dissemination to all parties.

o Assisting with the electronic transfer of data between the superintendent and project manager.

o Assisting the superintendent with the 2-week "Look-Ahead" schedules.

o Distribute the Coordination schedule weekly before the logistics meeting.

o Coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and our crews when requested.

o Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring quality control systems are in place and followed throughout the life of the project.

o Assist the Project Manager with monthly costs to complete estimates and maintain the actual cost during construction.

o Ensuring that material deliveries are properly accounted for and that the superintendent is updated with current inventory for all self-performed work.

o Checking the subcontractor's material inventory for the superintendent to ensure that the subcontractors have enough materials on site for the proper execution of their work.

o Scheduling and coordinating job site project meetings when requested by the project manager or superintendent.

o Work with the superintendent and project engineer to maintain up-to-date records of production quantity.

o Follow all company standards, systems, and policies.

o Maintain an inventory control worksheet for each scope of work.

o Communicate daily with Project Manager and Superintendent.

o Maintain a weekly project checklist to assist the project manager and Superintendent with their weekly job coordination.

o Maintain and coordinate all project correspondence, required paperwork, documentation, notices, RFI's, RFQs, Change Orders, etc., and maintain project logs.

o Maintain and update the project logs (RFI, submittal, Change Request, weather delay, visitor, material delivery, drawing, etc....)

o Assist the Project Manager with monthly billing and schedule updates.

o Maintain Company vehicles or personal vehicles cleanly and efficiently to represent the Company well.

o Communicate daily with the project superintendent and project manager to discuss project progress, requirements, and goals.

o Represent the Company to customers, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and employees in a professional manner.

o Meet regularly with the superintendent and project manager to ensure workmanship is up to Company standards and to brainstorm and implement ways to be more efficient and to provide more accurate cost data.

o Fulfill the role of project manager or superintendent in the project manager or superintendent's absence.

o Maintain qualifications in OSHA 30, First Aid & CPR, and QCM.

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in - Project Management, Construction Project Management, Business, Finance, or another related project management field.
  • At least six months' worth of construction project experience through internship or otherwise.
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • ACI Grade I

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to -

  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Ability to frequently repeat the same movements with arms, hands, wrist, and fingers. (Use fine manipulation, frequent to constant traditional keyboarding)
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small objects.
  • Ability to seldomly lift < 50lbs
  • Ability to reach overhead, at or below the shoulder.
  • Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Ability to focus on one source of sound and ignore others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Employees regularly work indoors, in an office setting.
  • Employees are seldom exposed to a variety of inclement weather conditions such as cold, wet, hot, and/or humid conditions.
  • Employees are regularly exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Employees are seldom exposed to loud noise, dust, airborne particles, fumes, and various types of smells.
  • Employees are seldom exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and high precarious places.
  • Employees will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks.
  • Employee is expected to work safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean work area.
