Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Radiation Therapist performs simulations and radiation therapy treatments as directed by the Radiation Oncologist in accordance with established polices and procedures of Prisma Health. The Radiation Therapist is responsbile for interpreting the treatment plan, administering safe and accurate radiation therapy treatments, performing simulations, maintaining accurate setup and treatment records, ensuring proper charge capture/billing documentation, and scheduling with the patient's needs in consideration to optimize workflow and efficiency.Accountabilities
Minimum Education
Associate's Degree\u00A0 and successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
Minimum Experience
No previous experience required
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT License; or Board Eligible (must receive ARRT within one year of hire)
South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) License
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and professional behaviors. - Required
Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgement in the application and delivery of ionizing radiation. - Required
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, priorities, volumes, work environments, and schedules while maintaining a high degree of focus and attention to detail. - Required
Prior experience in a progressive radiation oncology department. Knowledge of special procedures including, but not limited to: SRS, SRT, SBRT, SGRT, pediatric and adult anesthesia cases, TBI, craniospinal (CNS), and brachytherapy procedures. \u00A0 - Preferred
