Foth is currently undergoing exciting growth in our Columbia, SC office. We are seeking a team-focused and results-oriented Construction Representative who is looking to be a significant contributor to the execution of multiple ongoing local aviation projects. Foth Infrastructure's engineering team is the civil engineering consultant to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) charged with providing civil engineering and construction solutions to a variety of challenging projects. All while minimizing impacts to their commercial and cargo clients, the traveling public, and the environment. Projects include improvements to a wide variety of airport infrastructure, including utilities, roads, taxiways, and runways. You will be integral in providing essential solutions critical to the future success of the airport. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide construction observation services with a specific focus on aviation needs
  • Oversee and coordinate contracted services, including survey and material testing
  • Document and verify adherence to project specifications (e.g., daily log, quantities, submittals)
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project manager regarding project scope, timelines, and related project issues
  • Coordinate airfield construction activities with associated representatives of the client, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management
  • Previous civil construction experience (e.g., paving, storm/sanitary sewer, watermain, earthwork/grading)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software
  • 3 years of experience in construction observation or equal combination of formal education and applicable experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
