About The Role
GEL currently has an opening for an internship primarily focused on surveying in South Carolina.
Based in our Lexington, SC office or our Charleston, SC office, the position will work closely with our surveyors to assist in the collection of surveying data needed to complete different types of survey work assignments for a variety of projects. A housing allowance will be provided along with a competitive hourly pay rate.
The majority of work time will be focused in the field. However, some office work may also be required. The intern may need to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, work outside in the woods, in boats, along roadways, and construction sites. May occasionally lift and carry items that weigh over 20 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Current student in the process of acquiring a BS degree in Surveying or closely related field.
- Must have strong communication skills, and be self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work both independently and with a project team to completion of tasks.
- A valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
- Satisfy test results as part of GEL's drug-free workplace policy.
- Must be willing to travel/perform field work.
