Position Summary
The Division of Hospital Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina is recruiting pediatric hospitalists, at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, on the fixed-term track. Primary clinical responsibilities will include in-house evening/night coverage with direct patient care, supervision of residents and fellows and teaching of medical students at North Carolina Children's Hospital (NCCH). Patients will include general pediatrics, newborn nursery, bone marrow transplant and co-management with other pediatric specialties.

NCCH is one of the leading tertiary care providers in the Southeast with full range of specialty and surgical care. The Division of Hospital Pediatrics is a busy and diverse inpatient group that includes 24/7 coverage of inpatient pediatric and newborn nursery services in Chapel Hill. Additionally, we have a consult service and coordinate admissions and transfers for all medical patients. Our services and providers focus on the care of children with medical complexity and co-management with medical and surgical specialty consultants. Our faculty are academically productive in many areas including medical education, quality improvement and patient safety. There is a strong culture of collaboration, cooperation and mentorship.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* Candidates must be BC/BE in General Pediatrics and/or Hospital Pediatrics
* Doctorate: MD or DO
* Pediatrics residency in accredited program
* Full North Carolina physician medical license
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The ideal applicant will have experience/interest in quality improvement and medical education and have broad clinical experience.
