As an integral member of our shipping and receiving team, the Warehouse Associate 2 will perform the physical and administrative tasks involved in receiving, storing, shipping, packaging, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and finished goods - including highly sensitive electronic (ESD) parts. To accomplish this goal, they will sort, count, verify and fill orders for materials and finished goods by safely and accurately operating a variety of machines such as Forklifts, Pickers, scales, label printers, and computers. The successful individual within this role will be a subject matter expert in multiple desks within the warehouse (e.g., shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory). They will also be able to effectively mentor junior staff in various duties. Finally, they will assist in cycle counts and perform inventory reconciliation and root cause analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping & Receiving

  1. Receive incoming materials, goods, and supplies (including highly sensitive electronics) by collecting and reviewing the documentation, correctly entering the items into the ERP / MRP and tag and storing the materials in the proper location.
  2. Deliver required components to the production cells for finished goods assembly.
  3. Upon receipt of RMA - verify product, process the paperwork, and deliver the item to the proper service individual.
  4. Prepare documents such as bills of lading and carrier shipping documentation.
  5. Retrieve assembled product from staging and store in the proper location.
  6. Pull truck and/or small package orders for shipment.
  7. Use care and follow standard ESD protocols in packing, sealing, labeling, or affixing postage to prepare materials for transport and confirm for accuracy.
  8. Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise and ensure accuracy against documents.
  9. Represent the company's needs to the carrier representatives to facilitate the inbound and outbound shipments.

Administrative

  1. Assist with inventory cycle counts as well as semi-annual inventories.
  2. Maintain accurate inventories of all products.
  3. Keep all products rotated and properly identified with description and code numbers.
  4. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  5. Compile and provide administrative reports as necessary.
  6. Mentor and train junior staff on warehouse operations as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  1. High School graduate or equivalent certification
  2. Five years of warehouse work experience, with a preference for a manufacturing environment, especially with ESD Sensitive Electronic parts, materials, and products.
  3. Proven understanding of a warehouse or logistics environment, including the precise receipt of materials and accurate shipping of assembled products
  4. Documented strong computer skills with an emphasis on, ERPs, shipping programs, Microsoft Excel, and tracking materials in a database.
  5. Proven attention to detail and understanding of processes and procedural documents.
  6. Demonstrated experience with the safety procedures for safely lifting and/or moving packages up to 50 pounds in weight by hand and using floor jacks and hand trucks.
  7. Must possess or be able to attain a Forklift License Certificate valid for the state of South Carolina within 90 days of hire date.
  8. Proven ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
  9. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff.
  10. To conform with U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of Kanban and JIT systems a plus
  2. Knowledge of 5S principles and the ability to apply them to the work environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment.

Physical Requirements: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to talk, hear at normal speaking levels, sit and use their hands and fingers to write, type, and work with small-form electronics, including repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and fingers. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, this position involves sitting and standing for large portions of the work day. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for extensive computer use, reading and visual inspections. This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis.

Environmental Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
