Job Summary

Provides subject-specific research expertise to, and undertakes specific research work for residents/fellows and faculty for research and quality improvement projects that support Prisma Health's academic mission. Responsible for consultation and collaboration on a wide variety of research and scholarly activity issues in a timely, professional manner.

Accountabilities

  • Assists in the planning and development of investigator initiated research and quality improvement protocols in conjunction with researchers to include the retrieval of literature, collaboration with statisticians, and assessment of study feasibility. - 15%
  • Facilitates the protocol approval process of new research submissions, modifications, and continuing review activities.\u00A0 Assists in the review and completion of applications, then prepares or obtains other required documentation for various institutional review processes and committees. - 15%
  • Establishes data collection processes and other research practices to include the creation of case report forms/databases and standardized research documentation. Provides quality oversight of processes/practices. - 15%
  • Assists and facilitates cleaning and preparation of data for analysis.\u00A0 Performs data analysis and/or review.\u00A0 Summarizes project results. - 10%
  • Prepares scientific publications to include abstracts, manuscripts, and poster presentations. - 10%
  • Serves as the project liaison with researchers, other research team members, management, academic partners and other institutional departments.\u00A0 Establishes regular communication modalities to communicate study information and status of projects. - 10%
  • Educates researchers and research team members related to projects and processes. - 10%
  • Participates in identification of project funding, grant preparation and project maintenance. - 5%
  • Assists with supervision of graduate and undergraduate students participating on projects to include maintenance of records on assignment completion and acting as a liaison/mediator between students and the researcher. - 5%
  • Performs other assignments as directed. - 5%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in health sciences or related field
  • Experience - 2 years clinical, biomedical or basic research experience or equivalent

Required Licensure - Must complete human subject protection, conflicts of interest, and research ethics training.

Other Required Skills/Experience

  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Must have advanced computer skills including spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel and other related computer software proficiency.
  • Must have the ability to think creatively and analytically, problem solve and handle stressful situations.
  • Mathematical skills
