Job Summary
Performs all duties necessary to operate and maintain boilers and other auxiliary equipment necessary for producing steam for heat and sterilization and chillers for space and equipment cooling for the hospital and associated campus buildings.* Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and records appropriately.\u00A0 25%
* Operates and maintains boilers.\u00A0\u00A0Observes and takes appropriate action for safe operation.\u00A0 Operates and maintains
\u00A0\u00A0 boilers.\u00A0\u00A0Observes and takes appropriate action for safe operation.\u00A0 20%
* Tests boiler and cooling tower water samples; assigns proper chemical treatment.\u00A0 5%
* Starts and stops chillers as load demands.\u00A0 10%
* Performs scheduled tests to comply with JCAHO, DHEC and other standards. \u00A0\u00A05%
* Maintains Energy Center by cleaning and painting.\u00A0 10%
* Starts, stops and switches over boilers as appropriate.\u00A0 10%
* Cleans and repairs boilers, blow tubes, and discharges sediment; regulates feed water and condensate pumps.\u00A0 10%
* Available for call back for emergency situations.\u00A0\u00A0Achieves 90% attendance at required training meetings.\u00A0\u00A0Works

High School diploma or equivalent\u00A0
3\u00A0years- Boiler operator experience
Refrigeration certification- Preferred\u00A0
