Job Summary

Serves as the primary clinician in the evaluation, planning, and treatment of psychiatric patients. Provides psychotherapy and coordination with other clinical professionals and services to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for providing individual, couples/marital, family, and group psychotherapy to assigned outpatients.
  • Provides timely professional documentation of initial evaluation, treatment plan, and progress notes. Completes all required documentation for third party payers and ensures that clinical information is available and updated for coordination of care. Completes other paperwork as required.
  • Provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.\u00A0 Accountable for high level of independent decision-making in the plan of care for therapy services provided. Updates diagnosis and treatment plan as needed. Functions as the primary clinician in the coordination of care and assumes on-call duties as required.
  • Works in conjunction with treating psychiatrist and/or other clinical professionals and makes appropriate referrals to other services as needed. Involves community resources in the treatment planning as appropriate.
  • Maintains licensure and enhances professional growth and development through professional affiliations, participation in educational programs, in-services, workshops and review of literature. Demonstrates working knowledge of treatment trends and best practices.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and attends required in-services.
  • Promotes the Brownell Center services to\u00A0PH employees, medical & psychiatric professionals in the community and to the general public.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Education - Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or Related Degree

Experience - 2 years Behavioral Health/Psychiatric post license experience.\u00A0

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

LISW or LPC, LMFT or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist

If Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, must have a valid SC RN License (Lawson Code L010)

Independently licensed in the state of South Carolina (Lawson Code L010)

Other Required Skills and Experience

  • LlSW preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment
  • Data entry
