Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Support the plant Instrumentation & Electrical system preventative maintenance programs for all production equipment including equipment calibration. Assist plant operations, engineers, and maintenance team members in tasks or troubleshooting involving equipment reliability and performance improvements.

  • Work with Production Engineering, Quality, and other related departments to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical and instrumentation equipment.

  • Calibrate, test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic devices (PLCs, transmitters, controllers, etc.)

  • Diagnose and repair electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls.

  • Responsible for computer-driven control system and related devices

  • Install, configure, and maintain variable frequency drives.

  • Evaluate performance and reliability of prototype and actual equipment during operation production models.

  • Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and major equipment repairs (e.g., electrical and mechanical)

  • Assist in the design, engineering, and procurement of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems.

  • Assist in writing JSA's.

  • Follow safety procedures, rules and work in a safe manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Technical School training or certificate preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years' instrumentation and electrical experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70e

  • Ability to use calibration, electrical, infrared, and ultrasonic testing equipment

  • Strong equipment / process technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of DeltaV DCS

  • Knowledge of Factory Talk software including minor programing changes and RSLogix 5000

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Able to attend training classes to keep current and new technologies

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Able to perform mathematical equations necessary for position's essential duties

  • Must be able to work within a team group environment to perform maintenance task

  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics and ladder logic

  • Good communication skills

  • Chemical manufacturing industry experience
