The Spirit of the Position:

The Traffic Control Officer supports the City of Inglewood by directing traffic during special events to help reduce traffic congestion and direct vehicles to certain areas of an event venue.

Event Based: Concert: early as 5pm-11:30pm/Football Season early as 9am and over 6pm/7pm


Principal Job Duties:

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license (For minimum of 2 years)
  • Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic for the City, Forum, SoFi Stadium and other Special events.
  • Work independently or with a team member, reporting to a field supervisor.
  • Resolve customer complaints in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Support Special Event Enforcement of the SoFi Stadium events, Forum events, and other events throughout the City.


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Skills:

  • Ability to mitigate and lead others to overcome challenges (Never Ever Give Up Attitude).
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
  • Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view.
  • Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be able to make decisions independently and stay firm on decisions made (not easily persuaded).


Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time (95-100% of shift) - no sitting is allowed.
  • Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
