KEMET Electronics is seeking a Project Manager in Simpsonville, SC. The Project Manager will drive equipment engineering projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage capital equipment projects - Estimate project costs, develop project plans / timelines and submit and manage capital projects.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the design and build of production equipment.
  • Work with the KEMET development team to develop new high volume production equipment to meet new product requirements.
  • Work with production and process engineering to modify or improve existing production equipment as needed.
  • Develop a broad understanding of the equipment and basic technologies used to make tantalum capacitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong equipment engineering background through formal education and 5+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium ($100K - $5M) equipment engineering projects and lead a team of engineers and technicians in the design and build of production equipment.
  • Able to coordinate activities within KEMET across different plants and externally with key KEMET equipment suppliers.
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD and / or SolidWorks are desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be a team player and will have a good work ethic, good time management skills, creativity, analytical skills, and strong communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of assembly, termination and encapsulation methods used in surface mount passive component or IC industry is desirable.

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience in equipment engineering leading projects and teams. Ideal candidate has previous experience working with equipment in the electronic components industry.
