Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • General understanding of manufacturing and utilities processes
  • Executes Capital Projects (10k-300k) and maintenance repairs on plant equipment.
  • Performs all required SH&E responsibilities
  • Executes tasks using recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices including industry codes and standards
  • Assists customers as required
  • Participates in operational and mechanical trouble shooting in all process areas in the plant
  • Process evaluation, testing and improvements
  • Design and implementation of process modifications, including, but not limited to, safety, throughput, and energy efficiency improvements
  • Implement process control improvements
  • Conduct raw materials yield and improvement studies
  • Conduct energy yield and improvement studies
  • Ability to set up and facilitate process hazard analyses
  • Complies with all plant and corporate administrative rules
  • Complies with all applicable plant operating procedures
  • Complies with all applicable plant safety rules and plant environmental compliance
  • Implements process hazard analysis action items
  • Implementation and management of programs related to process safety management
  • Compile written process safety information for all production lines at this location
  • Develops engineering and maintenance procedures
  • Conducts pre- start up safety reviews
  • Proficient in the use of ChemCAD for process modeling
  • Actively support the SH&E management System and safety objectives with a goal of zero incidents
  • Assists customers as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Chemical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery
  • Process safety management (MOC, PSSR, PHA) experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in a Union environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of ChemCAD is a plus
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and educational disciplines
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical and planning skills
  • Strong leadership, integrity and a focus on team environment
  • Ability and desire to excel in a hands-on plant environment
