Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide carbon-testing technology, tar-distillation, phthalic anhydride production, and wood-preservation engineering service
  • Provide process and project engineering support for worldwide operations
  • Implement the engineering project correctly to eliminate problems and prevent any future alterations. The goal is to control project cost and reduce future operating and maintenance costs
  • Provide and improve process design
    • Prep and review spec and requirement of equipment, piping, instrument, utilities etc.
    • Estimate budgetary cost for engineering projects
    • Participate PHA activities
    • Design and execute experiments or try-out with internal and external labs
  • Timely provide engineering assistance is critical not to hold or delay any project
  • Provide process engineering assistance to all business units
  • Accomplish Zero Harm from the beginning of a process design
  • 70% in process improvement and engineering, 15% in PHA and 15% in lab
  • Do the engineering right from the beginning through the project completion
  • Serve as a project manager while work with external labs or firms
  • Serve as a supportive role of providing engineering information and comments on internal projects
  • Serve as a mentor for junior engineers


  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering; advanced degree preferred
  • P.E. license preferred
  • 10-15 years of engineering experience in the chemical industry
  • Experience with design, construction, commissioning, and debottleneck of greenfield and brownfield plants
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred
  • Proficiency in chemical process simulation software required; Proficiency in ChemCAD is preferred
  • Strong communication ability
  • Strong teamwork mentality while also being able to self-motivate
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% both domestically and internationally
