Position Description

Manufacturing Control /Co-op/Intern

Department Overview

Manufacturing Control Studentssupport manufacturing members to determine process requirements as well asprocess improvements. Co-ops should beable to perform a situation analysis, collect data, determine root cause andpresent countermeasure options. Co-opswill also experience the ability to lead a small project or participate inlarger projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Participate in and/or lead department projects

* Gain a working knowledge of plant, departmentpurpose, customers, daily responsibilities and workflows

* Gather data as needed to help with problemsolving

* Track/document data

* Presenting findings or recommendations tomembers of leadership

DailyTasks

* Attend /participate in Department meetings

* Associateand/or vendor interactions

* Practice "Goto the Spot" approach when researching/solving problems

* Partner withidentified department mentor

* Consistentlyidentify opportunities for continuous improvement

* Develop andexecute activities/tasks to achieve strategic objectives

* Collect dataand apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems

* Effectivelylead project themes

* Effectivelysell ideas, securing buy-in from individuals or team

* Demonstratetechnical proficiency, with expertise on some topics, within technical area

* Buildtechnical, Honda Way, and department knowledge

RequiredJob Relevant Experience

* Completion of at least two semesters at atwo/four year college or trade school

Degree/EducationalRequirement

* Actively pursuing two/four year degree

* Process Engineering/Mechanical Engineering

AdditionalWork Factors:

* Maybe asked to support flexible work schedules including shifts as necessary

* Mustbe willing to travel as required

* AnticipatedTravel: Domestic 0%, International 0%

* Mustbe able to work overtime as necessary to support department needs (short-termand/or scheduled)

* Estimatedamount of overtime: 1-2 hours per week
