Regional Route Waste Driver

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Regional Route Waste Driver, known internally as a Technical Services Technician. This position is responsible for driving to our retail customers throughout the region and picking up, packing, and labeling damaged or expired retail and/or pharmaceutical materials and transporting them to a Clean Harbors facility for disposal. This position has an excellent history of career advancement through the Chemist job ladder. This is an excellent ground level opportunity for someone interested in the environmental services industry and also a great way to see the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive throughout the Arizona and New Mexico area on assigned route. Perform hazardous waste disposal services and compliance support for retail clients. Transport waste to a Clean Harbors facility for disposal.
  • Segregate, pack and load materials and waste products
  • Prepare DOT shipping documents
  • Conduct projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State and local regulations and health and safety plans as well as Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., policies and procedures. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations
  • Must be available to do overnight travel up to 70% of the time Monday to Friday.
  • Ability to perform manual labor (heavy lifting, movement of drums and totes, etc.)
  • Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) required and a clean driving record
  • 40 hour HAZWOPER, MSHA helpful
  • Ability to adapt to changing business demands and environments
  • Good customer service skills
  • Chemical handling experience helpful
