We are currently recruiting for self starting, motivated Engineering Interns for the Summer 2018 season who are looking for hands-on practical experience. This is a support role primarily for design engineering, with manufacturing, testing, and R&D exposure. Students will interact with supervisors, project leaders, engineers, technicians, skilled trades, and cross functional project stakeholders on a daily basis.


  1. Support mechanical engineering staff(s) by performing basic engineering assignments in the design, development, and production of outdoor power products or related systems. This can involve participation with planning, technology research, materials engineering, functional design, prototyping, product /component testing, etc.
  2. Observe and learn manufacturing capabilities to permit Design for Manufacturability (DFMA).

In this internship you will gain experience with:

  • Solidworks 3D modeling and drawing creation
  • Solidworks PDM - Cad data management tool and using it for data workflows
  • AS400 database for bill of materials
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint project planning tools

You will be exposed to:

  • Fabrication processes including welding, pressbrake, laser, punch press, machining centers, large presses, powder paint systems and more
  • Final assembly processes
  • Facilities and tools of a research and development model making shop and testing department
  • Lean product development process and manufacturing principles
  • Rapid prototyping tools
  • Project management tools and methodologies
Job Requirements


  • Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited university studying toward a Bachelor's degree in engineering, associates of mechanical design, or similar
  • Must have completed the sophomore year (or equivalent for Associate program candidates) in the major program of study
  • Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0
  • Students should be mechanically inclined and have an interest in new product development, outdoor power equipment, and manufacturing


  • Industrial, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, and/or hands-on work experience
  • Solidworks experience
