Job Description

Job Summary:

The Driver/Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a tractor trailer or heavy equipment to complete tasks related to CDF processing. Such tasks include loading/unloading, moving (within property), and transporting of processed material. The Driver/Equipment Operator may also assist with outside projects, such as land-clearing for outside customers, and transporting of equipment. The Driver/Equipment Operator is responsible for all fueling, care, and maintenance of their equipment, as well as compliance with all company, local, and Federal safety laws. The Driver/Equipment Operator works closely with all employees from Laborers to management and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Details:

  • Loading/unloading processed material
  • Transporting processed material from origin to customer
  • Moving and organizing processed or unprocessed material within the origin site to maximize space and efficiency
  • Communicating with Fleet Manager to insure all laws are being adhered to
  • Provide appropriate documentation for all material moved – either to office manager or customer
  • Responsible for properly maintaining equipment and notifying supervisor of any mechanical issues that need to be addressed

Candidate Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Required:

  • Class A CDL
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Intermediate tablet/smart phone skills
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtractions)
  • Experience working in small teams
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of tractor trailers
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to fill out daily electronic logs

Preferred:

  • CDF related experience
  • Previous experience dealing with end customers

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions (wet, hot, cold)
  • Ability to work with a moderate noise level
  • Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend over, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk for various periods of time
  • Must wear steal toed boots, reflective vest, hard hat, gloves, ear plugs and safety glasses
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
