Position Description

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is directly responsible for operating an efficient and effective security program which is in full compliance with the NISPOM and consistent with ATI, DOD and DOE security policies, procedures and requirements.

ATI's standard business hours are Monday-Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM. Our office is located at 315 Sigma Drive, Summerville, SC 29486.

Essential Functions

Manages the processes for program-related security items.

Coordinates with the Corporate FSO to conduct initial, ongoing and refresher security education and training as needed.

Develops and facilitates new employee security briefings, security indoctrinations, annual refresher briefings and debriefings of employees.

Initiates security clearance requests, maintains records both hard copy and/or electronic, safeguards and ensures appropriate data is logged within the approved automated systems.

Prepares and tracks visit requests and communicates with other facilities and individuals as needed.

Manages foreign travel reporting process and briefing requirements as situations arise.

Utilizes and protects personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive information as required.

Assists employees with the completion of security clearance paperwork and visit requests.

Develops, implements, and overseas all aspects of the ATI security program for the specific Operating Unit program(s).

Administers the security program in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.

Investigates reports of security violations or security issues and prepares incident reports.

Participates in external security inspections and internal self-inspections.

Conducts random entry and exit inspections.

Reviews and screens DD Form 2345, Military Critical Technical Data Agreements, to ensure internal processes are correctly followed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience, or a Master's and two years experience.

Must have previous security experience and in in-depth knowledge of Department of Defense security requirements. Knowledge of the NISPOM a plus

Must be FSO certified or obtain a current certification within 6 months of assignment.

Must have knowledge of the proper use, marking and storage of classified materials, documents and equipment.

Must have knowledge and experience with all or most of the following tools: (JPAS, DISS, SWFT, DCII, DMDC, STEPP and NISS).

Knowledge, experience, and understanding of both the Defense Security Service (DSS) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) required to effectively perform duties in this position.

Knowledge of security requirements associated with the use of classified IT systems a significant plus.

Must remain current on changes to the National Security Program process and systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the company and externally as needed.

Must possess a high degree of both competency and integrity.

Must current possess a DOD security clearance at the Top Secret level or have current eligibility.

Must be a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization, or a green card lawful U.S. permanent resident, or a political asylum in the U.S. Individual must meet the definition of a U.S. person upon hire due to the risk assessment of this position.
