JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The staff modeler (designer) is responsible for developing a comprehensive and functionally and dimensionally accurate physical layout of the system based on the engineering design, specifications, and materials and equipment submittals to meet the project needs and M.C.Dean's constructability objectives.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review and analysis of the electrical drawings, specifications and submittals;
  • Design of the pathway layout consistent with the electrical design;
  • Equipment layout;
  • Participation in the design coordination process and resolving coordination conflicts;
  • Production of drawings to support field requirement;

Essential knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related concepts;
  • Knowledge of the field installation best practices
  • Knowledge of critical design software
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk Navisworks
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • BlueBeam
    • MS Office
  • Experience:

    • Field experience with electrical installations is strongly desired;
    • Design experience with the listed tools is strongly required

    General Requirements:

    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team
    • Commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • High school diploma or GED are required.

Certifications, licenses:

  • Completed electrical apprenticeship and journeyman or master electrician status strongly desired
