Job/Internship Description

**THIS INTERNSHIP HAS THE POTENTIAL TO TURN INTO FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT UPON GRADUATION**

SUMMARY

The HR Intern will learn the fundamentals of recruiting and hiring and the importance of employment law/compliance and record keeping. Additionally, this individual will have responsibility to provide support to the HR team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in maintaining job descriptions
  • Assist with aspects of the recruiting process including posting job openings to the Applicant Tracking System, sourcing candidates, screening candidates, coordinating and conducting interviews
  • Perform reference checks and background checks on candidates
  • Process applicant and new hire paperwork
  • Prepare new associate files and file documents appropriately
  • Examine associate files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons
  • Process employment changes such as transfers and terminations
  • Provide logistical support for HR events including new hire orientation, trainings, intern program, etc.
  • Support the HR team in a wide variety of projects and activities

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in HR from an accredited school
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive can-do attitude

Preferred:

  • Graduation date of December 2018 or May 2019
