Job Title: Web Development Intern

ALEX - Alternative Experts is now hiring a highly motivated Web Development Intern with strong creative problem solving skills for an upcoming opening in Dumfries, VA. With a heavy focus on professional development, we are open to considering candidates at various skill levels and educational levels. The successful candidate will work directly with our technical team to create aesthetically intuitive web pages using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS programming languages for multiple clients, focusing on the interaction between server-side frameworks (such as Python & Java), the web framework (Django), and database systems (such as MongoDB & Apache Cassandra).

Required:

• Meet and maintain Security Clearance Sponsorship eligibility requirements
• Basic level of proficiency with Python
• An understanding of visualization techniques
• Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to interact and understand back end development
• Ability to maintain a high-level of attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and be a part of a diverse team
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Hands-on experience working with web development technology
• UI/UX design experience
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
• A working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases
• Experience with Linux (CentOS, RHEL)
• Understanding of APIs

Education:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, Certificate, or equivalent web development experience
